Our Story
Hello!
My name is Sandra and I am the Founder of Blue Poppy. My experience with bamboo began three years ago when my son was diagnosed with eczema at nearly four months old. His treatment included two topical, oil and ointment based, application daily. Upon applying the treatments, I noticed that his clothes (largely cotton based) would immediately soak up the medication before his skin can. I then started to research alternative materials and that’s how I came across bamboo. The properties and benefits of bamboo were exactly what my son and family needed.
I started buying bamboo sleep sacks and a handful of body styles. As my son grew, I noticed the lack of styles and designs, so having a background in sewing, I decided to custom make outfits for my son from sleep sacks he had outgrown or footies.
And after buying popular brands for some time and custom making things, I truly noticed the lack of both designs, styles, and quality. Those that were available in the market, I seldom gravitated towards. And so, in 2021, I decided to start my brand and laid out the foundation for what would become Blue Poppy for the next 12 months. I worked closely with designers for exclusive prints and partnered with an OEKO-Tex Certified manufacturer. And in the summer of 2022, Blue Poppy was launched!
Born in California, Blue Poppy was created and fueled by the idea of blending design and softness. Our products are made using premium Bamboo Viscose to provide a gentle comforting touch on sensitive skin.
